Latimer School has been awarded a $1,200 garden grant from the California Fertilizer Foundation (CFF).

The Moreland School District is proud to announce that Moreland Middle School Teacher, Holly Brown, has been announced as one of six outstanding mathematics and science teachers who are finalists from California for the 2019 Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST).

After a lengthy study process to explore all possible solutions to our significant facilities needs, the Moreland School District Board of Trustees is now evaluating the possibility of placing a local bond measure on the March 2020 ballot. Easterbrook Discovery School (EDS) has been named the 10th highest fundraising school in the country for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s ® Pennies for Patients ® program.

County Supervisor Ellenberg honored student artists from Payne & Easterbrook Discovery School who participated in the District 4 Arts for All Showcase. Moreland is the 1st school district to partner with the county for this program.

Three brand new buses have been added to Moreland’s transportation fleet, with one more on the way. Through a Bay Area Quality District grant written by Maintenance and Operations Manager, Jared Amaral, Moreland received a Saf-T-Liner HDX, two Saf-T-Liner C2’s, and one Minotour bus that will replace Moreland’s current Special Needs bus.

Country Lane fifth grade student, Aadya Vadrevu’s design, was selected as the new Moreland/San Jose Public Library library card design, scheduled to be distributed to Moreland students in the fall of next school year.

Moreland Middle School’s (MMS) Academic Empowerment Program has just been named the 2019 Goldin Foundation of Educational Excellence Exemplary Project, a distinguished honor that includes a monetary award of $5,000 that will go toward program needs.

Students from Easterbrook Discovery School, Latimer School, and Moreland Middle School qualified and competed at the Santa Clara County Championship Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at Leigh High School.
