San Jose, May 24, 2019: Moreland School District announced that students from Easterbrook Discovery School, Latimer School, and Moreland Middle School qualified and competed at the Santa Clara County Championship Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at Leigh High School. Students had to place in the top five at the Santa Clara County Trials in order to advance to the Championships.
Several Moreland students placed high in their competition, including Moreland Middle students taking 2nd place as County Champions in the 6th grade girls 1600 meter run, 7th grade boys 1600 meter race, 3rd place Champions for 6th grade girls shot put and 8th grade Boys 800 Meter Run; Easterbrook Discovery Middle School student taking 4th place in the 6th grade Boys 65 Meter Hurdles; and Latimer students taking 3rd place in the 6th grade Girls 4x400 Relay.
Out of 34 schools represented in the County, and 17 schools in Moreland’s Central Coast Division, Moreland School District is thrilled to announce the following top ten results, many from students who competed in multiple competitions:
